Sitting down for a long time can be pretty tiring, and if you do a lot of sitting down at work, you should at least minimize sitting down at home or anywhere else. If you are an avid bingo player then you know how fast time flies while you enjoy a game or a coupe of games. You can have so much fun playing one bingo game after another that before you know it, you're legs and rear end have fallen asleep.
To prevent this from happening, here are a few simple exercises that you can do in between games to keep your circulation going. This will keep you stay focused and more alert as you bingo your way towards that prize.
Shoulder shrugs
This is a very easy thing to do, and you can even do this while you're still sitting down, or even while a game is going on. With your back straight, slowly shrug yours shoulders up and down.Raise your shoulders up, then relax. You can do this eight to ten times to relax your shoulder and back muscles.
Leg Lifts/ Leg Raises
To keep your legs from falling asleep you can also do leg raises. You can use the chair you are sitting on for this exercise and you can do this in between games and during breaks. First, sit up straight and put both hands on the sides of your chair for support. With both your feet firmly on the floor, slowly raise on leg and stretch it out in front of you. Now do the other leg. Do this for both legs ten to fifteen times for each leg, and then rest. This is good for your hip and stomach muscles.
Knee Lifts
You can do this using the chair for support. Stand with your chair on either your left or right side. Use the chair to keep yourself from falling down. With a straight spine slowly raise your knee and slowly lower it back. Do this for five or six times with each knee and then take a breather. This is a also a great exercise for your stomach and hips.
A good way to tone your lower back and butt is to do leg swings. Stand up and place you chair in front of you for support. With a straight back slowly raise your leg backwards, and then lower it down. Do this for each leg ten times, and then relax. Let us not forget the arms. No one wants to see flabby arms. To keep our arms toned and firm even as we play bingo for hours, we can do arm curls. To add a little weight you can use a book or a can of soup. You can either sit up or stand up straight. Place your arms by your sides and slowly raise and lower them down. Do this ten to fifteen times.
Now you can grab a bit of exercise even as you wait for your next game to begin.
