Bingo Breaks the Ice

We all know that bingo is a popular and classic game played since time immemorial. But with the development in the world today, bingo has evolved into so many transitions, thus the birth of so many variations game to place. One fantastic variation of the game is the Icebreaker bingo where in the main objective is to help people introduce themselves to other people. This is mostly used by teachers during the first day of class. It is some sort of a getting-to-know-you activity among students. There are also other venues where this game can played such as first day of workshop, parties and seminars.

The icebreaker bingo has two variants. The first version of the game is where the teacher of the event organizer prepares a certain set of cards where in the names of the students or participants are printed. The teacher or the event organizer will then go around and asks the students or the participants to stand up one by one to introduce themselves and say a little about them like what is their favorite hobby. Each person concludes by stating their name like "I am glad to meet all of you, I am...". Just like the traditional bingo game, the objective of the player is to get a line of five items to be ticked off their cards. The only difference is that the player must identify all the people included in their winning line.

Another version of the icebreaker game is by matching descriptions. In this, the teacher or the event organizer writes on the cards a lot of description. The students or the participants will then roam around the room and look for the people matching the description written on the card. The players must write the name of the person matching the description. The first person who fills out a line calls out "bingo!" and declared the winner. Some descriptions make use of birthdays of the students, backgrounds, occupation and a lot more. This version aims to conduct an easy get-to-know activity. It also challenges the students and the participants to make a good investigation by knowing the people around them. It is a test of how well you communicate with other people and make friends with them.

Icebreaker bingo may come in a lot of variations depending on what the teacher or the organizer wants. The important thing here is that, the players will be able to introduce themselves to other people in such a unique way.
